Ciao,

in the following days we will update

Giulia

source code of Linux on F454 firmware v2.00.4x

To Whom It May Concern at bticino/legrand:

As per the GNU General Public License (GPL) v2 I would like to request a complete copy of the Linux kernel source used to build the kernel images which are delivered in F454 firmware version v2.00.46 and v2.00.48 .
As Linux kernel source code is usually managed with Git, here is the unique Git commit hashes I am referring to:
- for v2.00.46 and v2.00.48 : c44221b9cd7e82d5ec494320685310d138f4dd07

If this forum is not the correct place for this request, please point me to the appropriate persons and/or facilities within bticino/legrand.

I conducted a search for this specific version of the source code within bticino's Git repositories on Github, but unfortunately I did not find this version. If I overlooked something, please point me to the right location.

Hello,

Can someone tell me if a firmware update already exist for the latest F455 gateway?

There is absolutely no info leaking about that.

Thanks,

Hi,

besides I'm still not recommending to directly connect a F454 to the Internet (*), I wonder how long you have waited and watch the animation? The point is, that the stuff which is getting loaded seems quite heavy (megabyte-wise) - at least for such a small web interface (might be in the eye of the beholder, though ...). So the other question is, what's the bandwidth of your connections?

At least, while experimenting, I also had the very first impression like "when is the loading animation finally done ..." (empty browser cache etc.)

* This has been discussed on the forum a lot in the past. Finally, after, well I would say years bticino came up with this new major firmware version release v2 including a new HTTPS setup. The point is though:

- the used SSL certificate still cannot be changed

- everybody got the same private key and since the firmware is a public thing, the private key is publicly available, which, frankly is non-sense and stupid beyond repair

- the apache config still allows one broken and deprecated cipher (RC4)

So I don't see any point why we should trust bticino products regarding security, if they don't even get the OBVIOUS stuff correct. I mean, for the basics, it is really easy these days .... one word: ssllabs.com

Hi joftr,

thank's for your respond. The answers to your questions: after approx. 1 minute watching the animation, i get a black screen showing a link "...check device connectivity...". If I cklick the link, the procedere starts from the beginning (loop). The bandwith of my connection ist 16 MBits. I tried with several browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Edge).

As I wrote, with the previous firmware (v1) I was able to open the interface (problem is since the update to firmware v2).

For the web interface, it should be enough to forward port 443 right? My cellphone app (iMyHome) works without any problems over the internet.

Hi hleopoldseder,

right, I already forgot, the "check device connectivity" message - I also got this once. The reason for getting this message in my case was, that I was NOT using port 443 forwarded to 443 at the F454, instead I was forwarding some other port to 443 at the F454. Judging from a trace of what's going on (Firefox w/ HttpFox), I got to the conclusion that the new v2 web interface is broken, since it generates and uses URLs, which do not contain the port number anymore (if there was one). So Firefox was directed to look at port 443 (default) instead of this other port I wanted to use.

But you sound like you actually are forwarding port 443 to 443 at the F454?

Hello,

if I call the IP adress from F454 device in the browser within my network, everything works fine.

From outside I only get the default page with the loading animation:

I use a DynDNS service and port forwarding in (my router) to port 443 and the latest firmware of F454.

With the previous firmware of device F454 i was able to establish the connection correctly.

What could be the problem?

Thanks.

Hi joftr,

this was the solution. I also forwarded an other port to 443. Now with forwarding 443 to 443 it works.

Thanks

I second that request.

@bticino: What is holding you back from making a brief documentation available?

@others: Did anybody find out something about this new authentication scheme?

I had quick look at same traces: seems like 4 message digests are invloved. Or at least there are four big numbers (424 bits each) going back and forth. First the server is sending one. Then the client replies with 2 of them. The server then sends a fourth number. And finally the client acknowledges this forth number with a regular ACK (*#*1#).

If these numbers are message digests (or similar), which seems likely, since it is said to be a HMAC based method, then I wonder which hash function they are using. Size-wise the closest would be SHA2-384. Maybe there is something appended to the digest (384 bit vs. 424 bit)?

A wild guess what is going on could be: The server is sending a random digest-sized number, then the client is applying the HMAC method on it using the password the user provided as a key. And the client might be challenging the server in the same way, thus its reply comprises two numbers. And finally the server authenticates itself by applicing the password as a key to the client's random number ... guess, guess, guess ...

Any other ideas anybody?

Firmware issue

Hello,

I have firmware F454_010045 installed on my F454 but when I try to update with version F454_20048 I,ve got a message:

Through USB  " Unable to contact device "

Through Ethernet the message : " Device not compatible with the configuration software being used " is displayed.

The update from F454_10034 to F454_10045 works w/o any problem.

Some advice please.

Thanks

Jacky

Hi, which FW version have you selected on the project part of the MHsuite?.

The upgrade at the version 2 must be done by MHsuite and not by TiF454.

Dear Myopen staff,

Now MyOmBox can retrieve and show Graphic consumption ( http://blog.myombox.com/myombox-news/new-myombox-release-v1-05 ), is working fine for electric product like 412000 or 3555, but 3554 is not working. You can see below the OWN frame I used. 1 , 2 , 3 are 03555 , 4 ,5 are 03554
